Review by hotel critic
During my recent stay at the Cumberland Inn, I was delighted to experience both its cozy charm and culinary finesse. Arriving late didn’t dampen our spirits, as the staff kindly set aside a lovely selection of soup and sandwiches for us—perfect after a long day cycling. We thoroughly enjoyed hearty pints at their pub, which might soon be recognized as the Pub of the Year by the Solway CAMRA group, adding a touch of local pride to our experience. The on-site restaurant did not disappoint. The breakfast was particularly impressive, showcasing locally-sourced ingredients, served in generous portions that set us on the right path for our adventures. Dinner was equally noteworthy, prepared to order with care and attention to detail. The spacious, comfortable rooms provided a tranquil retreat after our culinary explorations.
